A man accused of making meth in his garage melted rocks during the search, and the driver was arrested at the scene and taken to the Cascade County Jail. Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry said a 20-year-old Great Falls man and his girlfriend were killed when they collided in a pickup truck with three firefighters and two police officers. The driver has been identified as Scott Allen Jenks, said Josh Racki, the county prosecutor. A fatal accident is under investigation in Flatheads County, but the man accused in it is actually recovered from a vehicle that hit a police officer and three firefighters at a scene of domestic disturbances.
Jenks faces two counts of first-degree murder and manslaughter in one case, and more charges could be added, Racki said.
The Montana Highway Patrol said the accident happened about 2: 30 p.m. on Wednesday near the Flathead Valley ranch where Jim was born and raised and went to school in Columbia Falls, Montana. Rausch returned to Montana in 1994 after graduating from the University of Montana School of Law. He began his career as a litigator with the Cascade County district attorney's office, where he successfully prosecuted numerous criminal cases ranging from theft, burglary, rape and murder. In 2015, he moved to the University of Great Falls, where he taught law, criminal justice and criminal defense law, as well as criminal and civil law.
Rausch enjoyed spending time with his family, singing in the Great Falls Symphony Choir and enjoying his time in the Flathead Valley, especially in the summer.

In the past, we have helped clients obtain compensation in cases of construction accidents brought against parties whose negligence resulted in an accident that ultimately caused damage to their customers. A claim for a car accident may offer the claimant compensation for the loss of his ability to work in a safe place. However, if a person or party has contributed to the damage caused by the accident, it may not be possible to bring a lawsuit against another defendant for compensation for losses not covered by employee representation. We handle cases of car accidents and other personal injury in Great Falls and Flathead Valley.
